The Arctic Cowboys will be carrying club flag #214.

Previous flag expeditions were headed by exceptional explorers and scientists such as polar explorer Bob Bartlett, naturalist Roy Chapman Andrews, and the Apollo 11 astronauts. The flag has flown at both poles, on the moon, on Mount Everest, and even in space. Flying the flag in the Arctic is an honor, to say the least. We are honored to be chosen to represent the Explorers Club and to have their ongoing support.

* The Explorers Club flag holds significant meaning. It features an upper charge in the shape of a circular ‘E’ and ‘C’ representing the initials EC (Explorers Club). The central charge, designed by Frederick S. Dellenbaugh, represents a compass rose, signifying the club’s interest in exploration. The flag is considered an honor to carry and has been taken on numerous expeditions since 1918. UMembers must submit a scientific report known as a “Flag Report” to the society upon the conclusion of a trip. The flag is fundamental to the club’s activities and has a long history of courageous exploration.
