Cambridge Bay Awaits: Arctic Cowboys’ Last Stretch

Our Arctic Cowboys covered a solid 35.6 miles today, settling down for the night at Parker Bay Camp. This coastal haven boasts a serene beach, offering a perfect spot to unwind. Amidst today’s paddle, silver seals and families of geese captured our attention, observing us with keen interest as we glided past. Paddling conditions were ideal, making it a satisfying day of progress. Achieving our 35-mile target brings a sense of accomplishment.

Tomorrow’s challenge is even bigger—a 45-mile final push to reach Cambridge Bay, our final destination. While yesterday’s weather forecast seemed promising, today’s unforeseen early arrival of strong winds poses potential complications. The forthcoming paddle to reach our goal might prove more demanding than anticipated. Time will reveal the outcome.

We have arrangements made for the team to settle their heads at The Enokhok Inn while in Cambridge Bay. Danielle, the inn manager, has already been very supportive of our team’s needs.  While we hope our time is short in Cambridge Bay, I’m sure we will be well taken care of.  We need all kinds of good “juju” so that the important package we are waiting for arrives in the next few days.  All flights have been opened up and people and packages are moving.
